Trehgam Kupwara shuts on 1st anniversary of local youth | KNO

Kupwara, July 11 (KNO) : A complete shutdown was observed in Trehgam township of Kupwara in northern Kashmir to commemorate the first death anniversary of Khalid Gaffar Malik who was killed on this day alleged in Army firing. Local sources told KNO that, on eve of first death anniversary of Khalid Gaffar, all the shops, business establishments remained closed to mark a protest against the killing of Khalid. Khalid suffered bullet injury on this day last year after Army allegedly opened fire when their vehicles were stoned on 12 July evening. An eyewitness told KNO that a protest march was also held from main market to graveyard in which scores of locals participated and paid tributes to Khalid and prayed for his eternal peace. The protesters who marched through main market were carrying banners, reading demand of punishment for those behind Khalid’s killed.(KNO)
