Srinagar, Dec 04 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday presented a chargesheet against the then Assistant Engineer BDO Office Suresyar Chadoora in a trap case. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau said that it presented Charge-sheet in case FIR No. 25/2023 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 of Police Station ACB Srinagar Kashmir against accused public servant namely Tanveer Ahmad Dar, then Assistant Engineer BDO office Suresyar Chadoora, in a bribery case before the Additional Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court Srinagar. “The FIR was registered on 21-12-2023 on a written complaint alleging therein that aforesaid accused demanded Rs 2,000 as bribe for clearing of NREGA Bills. A trap was laid down and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 2000 as bribe from the complainant,” it reads. It also said that the bribe money was recovered on spot and chemical tests later confirmed the presence of phenolphthalein on the accused’s hands. “Based on the facts and circumstances together with cogent evidences brought on record, the investigation established the commission of offence u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against the accused public servant namely Tanveer Ahmad Dar, then Assistant Engineer BDO office Suresyar Chadoora,” it reads. The ACB statement also said that after obtaining the requisite sanction for prosecution from the Govt. the charge-sheet has been presented before the Court of Additional Special Anti-Corruption Judge Srinagar, today on 04 December 2025 for judicial determination. The next date of hearing has been fixed on 17-02-2026—(KNO)
