ACB marks 2nd day of VAW-2025 with focused outreach in health sector | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 28 (KNO): In continuation to the National Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week-2025, themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” and as part of departmental and public outreached program for building consciousness and echoing the obligation of everyone for preservation of honesty, transparency and good governance, the The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu & Kashmir conducted vigilance programs across the Union Territory of J&K, focusing on the Health Services & Medical Education Department, a spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The events and programs have been effectively conducted covering venues at AIIMS Jammu, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu, GMC Rajouri, DC Office Doda, DC Office Udhampur, in Jammu Division and GMC Srinagar, GMC Handwara, GDC Pulwama, DC Office Ganderbal, Mini Secretariat Shopian,, PHC, Bagi-e-Islam Baramulla, DC Office Bandipora, DC Office Budgam, BMO Office Pampore, Mini Secretariat Kulgam and Dak Bungalow Anantnag, in Kashmir Division. A dedicated Vigilance Awareness program was also organized by EOW Wing of ACB, at SKUAST Shalimar. ACB Officials, on invitation of CRPF -53 BN, also attend a vigilance awareness program at DPL Baramulla. A documentary on ACB’s anti-corruption initiatives was presented at all venues, featuring valued messages of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, UT of J&K and Shakti Kumar Pathak, IPS, Director ACB J&K ratifying ongoing national level efforts to promote integrity and accountability within government institutions and critically emphasizing the significance of a shared responsibility to eliminate corruption. All programs were being monitored at ACB Headquarter level by Director ACB J&K and other Senior Officials of ACB, including DIG’s and AIG’s level officers. Each district venues encompassed conduction of pre scheduled program on Vigilance Awareness, which were efficaciously organized in collaboration with Health Services & Medical Education Department. The programs observed enthusiastic participation of District Administration, including Senior Officers of Police, at places, which invariably included other government officials/functionaries and general public. Especially focusing on issues related to Health Services & Medical Education, the respective ACB Branch SSPs and other senior officers delivered their presentations accentuating the importance of shared obligation of officials and public in eliminating corruption and endorsing good governance across all public service delivery systems. The main program and events at Jammu were organized at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jammu and at Government Medical College Srinagar, at Srinagar. As part of an exercise designed to gather real-time feedback from the audience, an interactive session and audience engagement was conducted via mobile app platforms, to capture public/official response to a questionnaire, which were actively responded by audience at all venues. The questionnaire was of generic nature addressing medical and healthcare-based audience for critically identifying issues and challenges in various service delivery systems. Vigilance awareness material like posters/pamphlets, and digitally linked resources were also distributed/shared with participants to sensitize employees and public about anti corruption reporting mechanism such as Satark Nagrik App and ACB Official Helpline/Whatsapp. The events at each district also included Integrity Pledge Ceremony, which was administered by Senior District Administration Officials and ACB senior Officials, reverberating participants/departments obligation to sustain principled and moral standards in public service delivery. ACB Officials, once again encouraged participants and media representatives to continue supporting ACB’s vigilance initiatives and remain strongly committed to share their responsibility for promotion of culture of integrity and accountability in the public service delivery system. The program was successfully concluded with vote of thanks from ACB to participating employees/officers of Health Services/ Medical Education Department and the general public—(KNO)
