Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNO): Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Police arrested one drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police party of Police Post Toll Plaza during naka checking at Cherso intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 4 sticks of Charas like substance (48 grams), 40 grams of Charas Powder like substance and 315 grams of Bhung Chura like substance were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shaksaz son of Gh. Nabi Shaksaz resident of Malpora Ghat Tokuna Chersoo. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 28/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
