Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNO): In its continued crackdown against drug menace, Police in Pulwama achieved a major success during routine naka checking at Circular Road near Tahab Crossing.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), during the checking, a person carrying a nylon bag was intercepted by the Naka Party of Police Station Pulwama. During search, contraband substance including Charas-Chura like substance weighing 1.760 kilograms and Charas powder-like substance weighing 475 grams was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Chat son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Dangerpora, A/P Rangmullah, who was instantly arrested.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 12/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and investigation has been taken up to trace the source and forward/backward linkages of the seized contraband.
