Ganderbal, Aug 12 (KNO): In a grand display of patriotism and national pride, the district administration Ganderbal, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore Tuesday organised the Mega Tiranga rally under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The rally, which commenced from the lawns of the Mini Secretariat Ganderbal and culminated at Qamaria Ground, witnessed enthusiastic participation from thousands of citizens representing various walks of life. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, ADDC, ADC, students and members of civil society joined in, carrying the tricolour and raising slogans of national pride. Traversing through key locations of Ganderbal town, the rally became a vibrant celebration of unity and patriotism, in line with the campaign’s aim to encourage widespread public participation in the Independence Day celebrations. The Qamaria Ground, adorned with tricolour decorations, echoed with patriotic songs, speeches and cheers, creating an electrifying atmosphere of celebration and solidarity. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to “hoist the national flag at every home and turn the Independence Day celebrations into a truly people’s movement.” “I brought my children so they can feel the pride of carrying the Tiranga and understand the sacrifices behind our freedom,” said Shabir Ahmad, a local teacher. “The energy today is unmatched. It feels like the whole district is united under one flag,” shared Nusrat Jan, a college student. “Marching with thousands of fellow citizens made me realise how beautiful our unity is,” remarked Abdul Hamid, a shopkeeper from Ganderbal town. The district administration extended heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their invaluable support in making the rally a resounding success. However, Ganderbal Police today organized a Mega Tiranga Bike Rally under the nationwide "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign ahead of Independence Day celebrations. Flagged off by SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS from Manigam, the rally culminated at Manasbal Lake, with hundreds of riders, including police officers, Jawans, and youth, carrying the Tricolour and chanting patriotic slogans. The event aimed to foster patriotism, unity, and national harmony, receiving a warm welcome from the public along the route—(KNO)
