Baramulla, Sep 05 (KNO): Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa on Friday assured people that there was no shortage of essential supplies, including fuel and ration in the district. He added that the flood situation is not alarming in the district. Sherpa, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the district has more than a week’s stock of petrol, diesel and LPG, while ration supplies are sufficient for a month. “People need not to panic. Additional tankers are also expected to reach by this evening or tomorrow, so there is no shortage of essential commodities in the district,” the DC said during his visit to Sopore to review the situation. On the rising water levels in Wular Lake and Jhelum, the DC maintained that the situation is under control and there is no alarming threat. “The gauge is almost one meter below the danger level in Sopore and 1.5 meters in Baramulla. As such, there is no need to worry. The levels are too far from the alert mark,” he said, adding that the administration has identified shelters and kept spots ready as a precautionary measure. He further assured that the district administration is on alert and will take additional measures if required—(KNO)
