Jammu, Dec 05 (KNO): More than fifty corporate houses have set up dedicated recruitment stalls at maiden Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) Ex-Servicemen Job Fair here in winter capital.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) on-the-spot interviews are being held for disciplined and skilled armed forces veterans.
The DGR ex-servicemen Job Fair is being organised under the aegis of Yol based 9 corps at Tiger Division headquarters in Jammu.
“The event is witnessing an overwhelming turnout of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris from Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and adjoining areas, alongside personnel nearing retirement,” the statement said.
“The registration portal, opened on November 6, 2025 and it received a massive response, yet special on-spot registration counters were established by Tiger Division to ensure no veteran was turned away,” it said.
“Prominent companies that actively participated included HDFC Life Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Bajaj Allianz, Aditya Birla Capital, Canara Bank, Tata Motors, KIA Motors, MG Motors, Hyundai Motors and many others from sectors ranging from insurance, banking, automotive, manufacturing, IT, logistics to security services,” the statement added.
“Recruiters specifically sought the leadership, technical expertise and unwavering discipline that only ex-servicemen bring to the table,” it said.
The event, according to the statement, was graced by Major General Rahul Ohri, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding Gurj Division as the Chief Guest, along with Brigadier Kumar Anand, Commander Chenab Brigade, Brigadier Pankaj Chib (Retd), Secretary Rajya Sainik Board, and Air Commodore A Sreedhar, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jammu.
“A large number of candidates were shortlisted on the spot while many others were marked for follow-up selection processes, signalling immediate employment opportunities for veterans,” it said, adding, “The fair highlighted the growing synergy between the Armed Forces, DGR and corporate India in honouring the nation’s commitment to its ex-servicemen.”
Speaking on the occasion, senior officers termed the initiative a “resounding success” and a model for future regional job fairs focused exclusively on veteran resettlement.
“The successful conduct of the inaugural DGR Ex-Servicemen Job Fair at Jammu has set a strong precedent, reinforcing the Directorate General Resettlement’s pivotal role in bridging India’s veteran talent with the country’s booming corporate sector,” the statement added—(KNO)
