Kupwara, Nov 20 (KNO): In a joint operation Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) busted a narco-terror module by arresting father-son duo in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District on Thursday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two "hybrid terrorists"—Abdul Lateef, 53, and his son, Shahnawaz Khan, 23, of Puthwari in Nowgam area of Handwara, were arrested during the joint operation by the J&K Police and CRPF. “The duo was actively involved in running a narco-terror network in the area,” he added.
The official said that recoveries include a pistol with seven rounds, and heroin-like contraband weighing approximately 890 grams.
“A case has been registered under various sections of the NDPS Act, UA(P) Act, and Arms Act and further investigations are on,” the officer added—(KNO)
