Srinagar, Feb 06 (KNO): Police has stepped up its drive against drug trafficking by freezing illegally acquired assets in NDPS case registered at Police Station Kupwara.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the action relates to case FIR No. 186/2025 registered under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act. During the investigation, police recovered a heroin-like substance along with cash amounting to ₹4,93,100/- (Rupees Four Lakh Ninety-Three Thousand One Hundred), suspected to be proceeds of narcotics trafficking.
Further investigation revealed the accused’s involvement in the sale and distribution of narcotic substances. Accordingly, a Freezing Order under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act was issued to prevent transfer or disposal of illegally acquired property.
All seizure and freezing proceedings were conducted strictly as per law. The matter has been forwarded to the competent authority for confirmation.
