Srinagar, Feb 20 (KNO): Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has written to the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association expressing deep concern over recent attacks on Kashmiri students and shawl sellers across the country. Condemning the politics of hate and reaffirming his commitment to constitutional values, Rahul assured solidarity with the victims and pledged continued efforts to safeguard their dignity, security and equal citizenship. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson of JKSA said the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Friday has written to Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) National Convenor Nasir Khuehami in response to concerns raised over recent attacks on Kashmiri students and shawl sellers reported from various parts of the country. He said, in the letter, Rahul expressed deep concern over the recent wave of violence targeting members of the Kashmiri community. “He observed that the “politics of hate” has not only weakened institutions but also fractured the nation’s social fabric, and alleged that elements, encouraged either tacitly or overtly by the ruling dispensation, have contributed to an atmosphere of fear among minorities and marginalised groups,” said the spokesperson. He said, the Leader of Opposition unequivocally condemned violence in all its forms and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to upholding constitutional values. “Expressing solidarity with the victims and their families who have endured “unimaginable pain,” Rahul asserted that he will continue to fight hate and stand up for their right to live with dignity, security, and equal citizenship.” “The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has been actively pursuing the matter with political leaders and authorities, seeking safeguards to ensure the safety and protection of the community,” said the spokesperson further—(KNO)
