Srinagar, Feb 04 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday said that it released Rs 71.183 lakh for the development and maintenance of playfields and sports infrastructure in the Chanapora constituency during the year 2025–26.
Responding to a question raised by NC legislator Mushtaq Guroo, Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), informed the House that a volleyball court with fencing and drainage has been taken up at Nowgam at an allotted cost of Rs 20 lakh, of which Rs 11.459 lakh have been utilized so far.
He said that Rs 13.64 lakh have been sanctioned for chain-link fencing of the existing synthetic volleyball court and the ZPEO office, along with the construction of a main gate at Nowgam playfield, with Rs 12.36 lakh already spent.
“The remaining funds are earmarked for the construction of the ZPEO office at Nowgam, Srinagar,” the Minister said.
Replying to a supplementary, minister further said that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for additional projects aimed at upgrading sports infrastructure in the constituency have been prepared and will be taken up with the concerned authorities soon—(KNO)
