Srinagar, Aug 11 (KNO): Sporting events play a vital role in boosting physical fitness, discipline, team spirit, camaraderie and morale among CRPF personnel, Commandant 54th Battalion Ravi Prakash said on Tuesday. Addressing the closing ceremony of inter-battalion cricket tournament organised by the 54th Battalion CRPF in Srinagar, Prakash as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), congratulated all participating teams and players, saying such events help personnel maintain physical fitness while strengthening discipline, team spirit and mutual brotherhood. The final was played between GC Srinagar and the 35th Battalion, with GC Srinagar emerging as the winner and the 35th Battalion finishing runners-up, he said. Meanwhile, SKUAST Kashmir Vice-Chancellor Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, the chief guest at the ceremony, also congratulated the players and appreciated the organisation of the tournament. The winner and runner-up teams were presented trophies and medals during the closing ceremony. Senior CRPF officers, personnel and other dignitaries were present on the occasion—(KNO)
