Ban ‘unconstitutional’, ‘undemocratic’, ‘unethical’, says Jama’at | KNO

Says will move to court after getting opinion from legal experts

Srinagar, March 02 (KNO): Jama’at-e-Islami Friday termed the imposition of ban on the party as ‘unconstitutional’, ‘undemocratic’ and ‘unethical’. A statement issued to KNO reads that "ban imposed by Indian Ministry of Home Affairs on JeI is unconstitutional, undemocratic and unethical." It said the allegations leveled against the Jama’at are 'concocted and baseless'. It further added, Jama’at will move to court and in this regards deliberations are going on with legal experts. Jama’at carried its activities peacefully which are transparent and visible, it said, adding that it works on priority basis for propagation of Islamic teachings, development of society and dignity of humanity’. Jama’at exhorted its cadre to remain disciplined and patient whatever the circumstances will be and be hopeful that Almighty Allah will ensure favourable and supportive atmosphere.(KNO)
