Grenade recovered from wheat fields in Akhnoor, destroyed | KNO

Jammu, March 19 (KNO) : Bomb disposal squad of Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday evening destroyed a HE 36 old rusted grenade that was recovered from wheat fields at Pahariwala Khour village area of Akhnoor sub-division of Jammu district. As per details, an old rusted grenade in usable condition was found lying in a small channel of wheat fields in Pahariwala village area, falling under Khour police station. Soon, a team of police headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Khour Punjab Singh reached on the spot and area was seized and bomb disposal squad of police under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma also reached on the spot. Amid safety measures, the grenade was destroyed on spot. Police teams also briefed the local population to immediately inform police in case of any suspicious material is found lying anywhere.(KNO)
