Srinagar, April 01 (KNO) : “Since code of conduct that is in vogue in view of the Parliamentary polls commencing from April 11 in Jammu and Kashmir, there will be no let down in the operations against militants as focus of police, army and the CRPF would be to ensure clean operations against militants in Kashmir,” a top police officer to KNO on Monday. In an exclusive chat with the KNO, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) law and order, security Munir Khan said that code of conduct is for holding smooth polls and it is not applicable for the security agencies. “The code of conduct doesn’t stop us from going against militants and hence operations will continue. There will be no halt in our operations against militants,” Khan said. He, however, stressed that “our aims to ensure clean operations without any collateral damage as that has been taking place since past many days. Police sources said that combined efforts are being employed by the all security agencies to ensure clean operations to ensure clean and smooth operations and focus given the increased human intelligence support, “militants are being corned in a way that there is no collateral damage and also a very less law and order situation.” “In majority of the cases, we succeed but at some places we face law and order situation where our endeavor is to ensure no civilian causality takes place. Since information about the presence of militants keeps on flowing, we are hopeful of carrying out good and successful operations against militants during the poll period that is—from April 11 to May 6,” sources revealed. They said anti-militancy operations have been taking place with a complete synergy among all three security agencies—police, CRPF and the army. As per the official figures in the past fort night alone, 11 militants have been killed across Kashmir all such operations were human intelligence based.” The sources said that since anti-militancy operations doesn’t come under MCC and hence human intelligence based operations against militants will continue. Another senior officer said that after the deadly suicide attack on the CRPF convoy at Lehtpora, Pulwama on February 14 that left 40 CRPF men dead and dozens others injured, the security grid—police, army and CRPF framed a strategy to go after the Jaish with full strength.(KNO)
