Shopian tragedy case a blot on civilized world: JKDFP | KNO

Srinagar, May 29 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) Wednesday termed the Shopian tragedy case as a blot on the civilized world. The party as per a statement issued to KNO paid tributes to Aasyia and Neelofar, of Shopian who they said were brutally killed after raped by the government forces in 2009 and later CBI was brought in to shield the culprits. Remembering both the young women, the JKDFP Spokesperson said that from Kunnan Poshpora to Shopian, India has been using rape as a weapon of war against the oppressed Kashmiri people. The Spokesperson said that Indian investigation agency, CBI was brought to shield the culprits and this Indian investigating agency tried to deceive all including the Indian civil society. However, the Spokesperson said that Asyia and Neelofar like victims from Kunnan Poshpora to Shopian will always be remembered as victims of Indian oppression, suppression and tyranny. He stressed upon human rights groups and forums to take strong notice and take such measures which can prove helpful in bringing the culprits to justice.(KNO)
