Pulwama, June 14 (KNO) : Authorities on Friday suspended the train service between Srinagar and Banihal following a gunfight between militants and the government forces in Bandana village of Pulwama area in south Kashmir. Official sources told KNO that the service has been suspended as a “precautionary measure” in view of the ongoing gunfight in Bandana village of Pulwama district. “Trains will chug normally on Srinagar-Baramulla route,” he said. A fierce encounter is underway in Bandana village of Pulwama district, where two militants, including a top Hizb commander are believed to be trapped. Earlier a joint team of forces including 55 RR, CRPF and SOG launched cordon and search operation in the area after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. Meanwhile the authorities have snapped the internet services in all the four districts of south Kashmir. (KNO)
