18 students, teacher injured as excursion bus overturns in Ganderbal, three referred to SKIMS | KNO

Srinagar, July 03 (KNO) : At least eighteen students and a teacher were injured after a school excursion bus met with an accident in Repora-Lar area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Wednesday. Official sources told KNO that a school excursion bus bearing registration number JK15-5460 of Government Middle School Pathkoot Bandipora, carrying students and staff of the school for a picnic skidded off the road near Repora-Lar area in Ganderbal. The accident occurred when they were returning from Sonamarg, they said. Station House Officer (SHO) Arshid Salfi confirmed the incident to KNO and identified the injured students as Parveena Bano daughter of Jameel Ahmad (12), Tasleema (12), Arizoo (16), Naseema Bano(13), Aabida (12), Nasreena(11), Jameen(13), Mehnaaz(14), Kulsooma(13) Shubeena(14), Zafreena(15), Saima (11), Sabeena(13), Samreena (09) and a teacher Mohammad Yousuf Chopan, son Mohammad Abdullah, all residents of Bandipora. He further said that the injured persons were rushed to District Hospital Ganderbal from where three of them have been referred to SKIMS Soura, adding that police has registered a case in this regard. (KNO)
