Kupwara, July 13 (KNO) : Sarpanchs and Panchs on Saturday afternoon held a protest against District Administration Kupwara for failing to appoint Block Development Officer (BDO) for Trehgam block.  Scores of Sarpanch’s and Panchs assembled near Block Development Office (BDO) Trehgam blocked Chowkibal-Trehgam, raising slogans against Assistant Commissioner Revenue and District Administration Kupwara for failing to appoint BDO to Trehgam block for several months now and locked down the office.  According to KNO Correspondent, they said that non-appointment of BDO has brought all the developmental works to halt for sixth consecutive months now. The protesters alleged that despite repeated requests to those at the helm of affairs it seems that all genuine requests fell to deaf ears.  "We have knocked all the doors in District Administration asking them to appoint BDO but still there seems no ray of hope we are made to suffer all our developmental works,” the protesting Sarpanchs said. The traffic movement in the area also came to a halt after the road was blocked following which police rushed to the spot.Protesters appealed State Governor to look into the matter on priority.(KNO)
