Encounter rages in Sopore village, Internet suspended | KNO

Baramulla, July 17 (KNO) : Gunfight rages between militants and government forces in Gund Brath area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday morning. Reports reaching to KNO that that a joint team of Army's 22RR, SoG Sopore launched a cordon and search operation in the area. A police officer told KNO that contact has been established with the hiding militants after forces encircled the area. He said that earlier the cordon and search operation in the area was launched following specific information about the presence of some militants. Meanwhile authorities suspended internet services in Sopore town as a precautionary measure in wake of this encounter. While to prevent any law and order problem authorities ordered closure of Degree College as a precautionary measure.(KNO)
