Teacher’s death in flash flood: road blocked by angry villagers in Mendhar | KNO

Poonch, July 29 (KNO) : The villagers of from Soiyaan and Dhargaloon area of Mendhar sub division on Monday morning staged a protest against government authorities following death of a government school teacher. The residents blocked Jammu to Mendhar road due to which the traffic came to a standstill. An official told KNO that the deceased was posted as warden in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vikas Kendra Dhargaloon Mendhar who got washed away in flash flood on Saturday and later her body was recovered from one kilometre downstream from incident site. Deceased was identified as 45 years old Anzar Fatima wife of Mohammad Farooq resident of Dhargaloon Mendhar. Meanwhile protestors complained to KNO that a road in the area is under construction since long and government authorities have failed to complete the project due to which people are left with no other option than to cross the river. Mendhar to BG Jammu road is closed for traffic due to protest of the residents. (KNO)
