Police foils illicit Timber smuggling in Tangmarg | KNO

Tangmarg, Mar 23 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday late night foiled a Timber smuggling bid in Pinjora Tangmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla district while the driver and his companion managed to flee from the spot. According to Wire Service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an official said a special naka was laid at Pinjora after specific inputs about the transport of illicit Timber were developed. An official that after receiving specific inputs about the transport of illicit Timber through Pinjora Tangmarg, a special naka was laid at Pinjora. The official said naka was laid by SDPO Tangmarg Hilal Ahmad and SHO Pinjora Tabriaz Khan, the party after a while intercepted a Tata mobile vehicle without number plate, the official said. He said that after being intercepted the driver of vehicle taking advantage of dim light managed to flee from the scene along his companion. The official said after the vehicle being inspected, it was found they were carrying almost 10 logs of illicit Timber which was seized on spot. The official furthermore said that a case under relevant sections stands registered and more investigation into the matter is going on—(KNO)
