Safapora, May 19 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in Safapora area of central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. A senior police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the accused was arrested during a drive against those involved in drug peddling in the area He identified the accused as Mudasir Ahmad Wagay son of Gulam Mohammad Wagay of Hakbara Hajin. “A case FIR No. 22/2020 under section 8/22 NDPS act has been registered at police station Safapora and further investigation into the matter has been taken up,” he said. Meanwhile, Police assured that stringent action will be taken against the drug peddlers and their supporters. An official said that so far they have arrested 11 drug peddlers in the last two months in the area and efforts shall continue relentlessly to nab all the culprits involved in drug nexus—(KNO)
