Srinagar, May 20 (KNO): Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Wednesday visited CRPF Srinagar Sector Headquarter Nishat and CRPF South Kashmir DIGs / 90th Battalion Uranhall at Anantnag. According to a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir news Observer (KNO), he reviewed security and COVID-19 arrangements during meetings with the senior officers of Police and CRPF at these places. He also addressed darbar of CRPF Jawans at Nishat Srinagar.  Accompanied by IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DGP first visited the CRPF Sector Headquarters Nishat Srinagar, where he was received by IGP CRPF Srinagar P K Pandey and later in the afternoon he visited 90th Bn. CRPF at Uranhal Anantnag where he had interaction with senior Police and CRPF officers. Addressing the CRPF officers, personnel the DGP complimented all the Police and CRPF personnel in handling different situations successfully. He said that the synergy between the forces especially CRPF and Police is being hailed by the higher authorities. He said due to well planned and coordinated efforts of Police and CAPFs, good results are being achieved on anti-terror front.  Other CRPF officers present at Nishat CRPF Headquarters for the meeting and Darbar with the Jawans included DIG CRPF North Davinderjeet Singh, DIG CRPF South D S Mann and Srinagar based CRPF Commandants. The DGP appreciated the role of Police/CRPF in handling the situation in yesterday’s operation at Nawakadal Sringar. He said that despite highly congested area, it was a good operation in which dreaded militants were killed. He said that the efforts of Police, CRPF and other security forces in maintaining peace and stability in Jammu & Kashmir despite challenges will be remembered by the nation. He said that the elements vitiating peaceful environment in J&K will be dealt with firmly. He exhorted upon the personnel to ensure that the anti-national activities are kept under check and emphasized upon the senior officers to brief the nafri on naka points to boost their morale for exhibiting excellent performance on duty from time to time. The DGP J&K also rewarded the CRPF Quick Action Team (QAT). While reviewing the security with senior Police/CRPF officers, the DGP appreciated the joint efforts of forces in its fight against the militancy and said that “we have to continue our peace mission with more dedication to ensure long lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.” He said that though forces are heavily engaged in COVID-19 related enforcement, yet various successful anti-militancy operations have been carried out jointly by the police and security forces in which several top militant commanders have been killed. “It speaks of the commitment of forces in strengthening the peace and order in J&K,” he said. During the meetings, the DGP took stock of the arrangements and measures being taken by police/CAPF to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and stressed for sustained efforts at all levels and involvement of local populace in breaking the chain. He said that “our officers and cops are going out of way and doing an exemplary work in providing a helping hand to the needy people at this critical juncture and assured that we will continue to serve our people with full commitment.” He said that with the increasing number of positive cases in police and security forces, all units have to take extra precaution in handling the situation. The officers of Police and CRPF briefed the DGP about security scenario of their respective jurisdictions and security measures initiated for ensuring peace and stability. The meeting at Uranhall was attended by IGP CRPF (Ops) Rajesh Kumar, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG CRPF Awantipora B. S. Negi, DIG SKR Atul Goel, DIG CRPF Anantnag D S Ambesh and other officers –(KNO)
