Srinagar man slips to death on Sgr-Jmu highway while on way to home from Hyderabad | KNO

Srinagar, May 21 (KNO): A man from Safa Kadal area of Srinagar slipped to death at Khooni Nallah on Srinagar-Jammu highway while he was on way to his home from Hyderabad.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a man identified as Nazir Ahmad Rather of Nowpora, Safa Kadal slipped to death in Khooni Nallah near Ramban on Srinagar-Jammu highway late Wednesday evening.

He said that Nazir was on way to his home from Hyderabad. "On reaching near Khooni Nallah, Nazir asked the driver to stop the vehicle in order to attend nature's call. As he stepped out of the vehicle, he slipped into Khooni Nallah and died on spot," the official said.

A senior police official from Ramban told—KNO that a police team was on spot and rescue operation was going on to retrieve his body. "The incident happened at around 12 O'clock and we are putting in our best efforts to retrieve the body," he said.

Meanwhile, as the news about the death of Nazir spread in Safa Kadal, neighbours and relatives gathered at his residence. Nazir is survived by his wife, four unmarried daughters and a son—(KNO)
