Srinagar, June 02 (KNO): Seerat-ul-Din, 23, pursuing MBBS was quarantined in March this year when she realized that there was a need for her to be the mentor to many people in the quarantine center. Hailing from the Shivpora locality of Srinagar, Seerat, who is a final year student, returned to Kashmir when pandemic hit the world. She was quarantined at Srinagar hotel for 14 days. It was the time when Seerat has read a post on a group namely "Yakjut ", joined by over thirty thousand Kashmiri women. “The group was very informative and helpful from start,” Seerat said. As soon as she returned home, Seerat said she got busy in helping people, which became her sole objective during the prevalent situation. It was during her time in quarantine, she saw a lady who was in dire need of psychiatric help, she said. "The lady was suffering from depression and anxiety and I offered her help,” she told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Seerat said after she handled the first case, the lady came up with a beautiful review about her counseling, which added eight more patients to her list. She said that as of now, she has handled more than 145 cases across the globe but in this process, an endocrinologist Dr. Shariq Masoodi, Dr Tasaduq and Dr. Abdul Rashid Badoo have greatly assisted her. “I am very thankful to all of them,” she said. Seerat does not charge anything from the patients considering the fact that the world is gripped by pandemic. "All is free of cost. I have not charged a single penny from anyone rather I have asked my patients to donate money to orphanages." “I don't prescribe or recommend any medicine to my patients. I believe one's self moral, self-esteem and self-confidence is enough to get out of depression,” she said – (KNO)
