Three health workers among eight fresh cases in Bandipora | KNO

Bandipora, June 03 (KNO): Three health workers among eight fresh Covid-19 positive cases were reported from Bandipora district on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 161 in the district. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that eight more persons were tested positive for Covid-19 in the district including three health workers. Among these fresh cases two are from Gurez while one each from CA khan, Putushai, Bonakoot, Mangnipora, Ashtengoo and Naz Colony areas of Bandipora health block. The official said they have been shifted to a hospital dedicated for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. “Total number of cases in the district now stands at 161 of which 25 are active while 135 patients have recovered so far. A patient has also died due to Covid-19 in Gund-Jahengeer village of Hajin so far,” he said. He said that 13 new positive patients have been detected in the district in last two days. “We have also declared Ahamsharief village as a red zone after 5 new cases were found there yesterday, following which we have also restricted the movement of people in the main market, besides shops have been also closed,” he added. He said that the district magistrate also directed the chief medical officer to get the process of contact tracing done as per norms and 100 percent screening of the 300 meters perimeter. Pertinently, earlier Bandipora district had the highest number of patients, however, most of them have been cured and discharged and the district was recently declared as orange zone—(KNO)
