Re-opening of Educational Institutions: College principals asked to consult all stake holders before final call | KNO

Srinagar, June 03 (KNO): Authorities in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have asked all college principals to consult all stake holders and get feedback from them about the re-opening of educational institutions in the UT.

Director of colleges higher education department while taking cognizance of the order of the Union government that state government or UT administration must hold consultations at the institution level with parents, students and other stake holders, college principals have been asked to submit report with their recommendation to the respective nodal principals latest by 5th June.

As per the order, copy of which lies with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the respective nodal principals shall prepare a brief one page report on the basis of the reports received from the principals of their respective divisions within 6th of June for further consolidation and onward presentation to the administration department. The order states that the decision about the opening of the educational institutions will be taken after wider consultation with all stakeholders at institution level.

"The decision will be taken after a wider consultation at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders," reads the order issued by director of colleges, higher education department "Accordingly all college principals are requested to enter into wider consultations at their respective institutional level with students, parents and other stakeholders and submit a report with their recommendation to the respective nodal principals latest by 5th of June 2020," order further reads—(KNO)
