Srinagar, June 04 (KNO): The number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir reached to 3142 as Union Territory on Thursday witnessed biggest ever spike of 285 positive cases including 20 pregnant ladies, many health workers and a journalist. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among new 285 new cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, 31 were tested positive at SKIMS, 135 at CD hospital, 19 at JVC Bemina, 57 at army's command hospital Udhampur and rest at other hospitals. Among 285 new cases, 233 belong to Kashmir division while as 52 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 2407 including 888 recoveries and 31 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 735 including 160 recoveries and four deaths. They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2059 including 1488 from Kashmir division and 571 from Jammu division. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 27 from Anantnag, 49 from Kulgam, 25 from Srinagar, 5 from Budgam, 19 from Kupwara, 35 from Shopian, 29 from Baramulla, 15 from Bandipora, 14 from Pulwama and 4 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 52 from Jammu division include include 11 from Jammu, 4 from Poonch, 25 from Udhampur, 3 each from Kuthua, Doda, Reasi and Samba, 5 from Kishtwar and six from Rajouri," officials disclosed. Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal officer for covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of 1670 samples tested at the hospital 31 were tested positive including 19 from Baramulla, 05 from Bandipora, 03 from Anantnag, 02 from Srinagar and one each from Kulgam and Kulgam. The positive patients from Baramulla district include 12 year old two males and 19 and 40 year old females from Gantamulla, 30 year old female from Reban, 30 year old female from Charidara, 27, 38 and 50 year old males and 50 to 62 year old 5 females from Khanpora Baramulla, 40 year old male from Milat Colony, 47 year old male, 5 and 8 year old females from Shutloo, 22 year old male from Watergam, he said, adding that the patients from Bandipora include 12, 19, 23 and 26 year old males from Nebrapora  and 34 year old male from Pethkote Bandipora. He further added that patients from Anantnag incude 23 year old female from Tulhard, 40 year old female from Laripora Pahalgal and 30 year old lady from Nowshera Anantnag. Patients from Srinagar include 46 year old male from Umarabad HMT and 40 year old male from Batamallo, he said adding the other two patients are 28 old female from Zachaldara Kupwara and 27 year old male from Kulgam. Officials from GMC Srinagar said that out of 1200 samples that were tested on Thursday 135 samples were tested positive at CD hospital. Officials from JVC Bemina said that out of 622 samples tested, 19 were found positive including 02 from Budgam and 17 from Shopian. Lt Col Inam Danish Khan from Army's Command hospital Udhampur said in last two days 57 persons were found positive including  29 from Udhampur, 12 from Jammu, 3 each from Reasi, Akhnoor, Rajouri and Poonch and one each from Samba and Kishtiwar were found positive at the hospital. Meanwhile, with the death of 60-year-old male from Noorbagh area of Srinagar on Thursday, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has reached to 35 including 31 from Kashmir division and four from Jammu division.An official from CD hospital said that the man was referred from SMHS hospital to CD hospital two days ago after he was tested positive. He died at CD hospital on Thursday and he was suffering from pleural effusion, he said The 35 deaths include 5 from Srinagar, 4 from Kulgam, 8 from Srinagar, 7 from Baramulla, 3 from Shopian, 2 from Budgam and one each from Kupwara and Bandipora in Kashmir and two from Jammu and one each from Udhampur and Doda in Jammu division. As per officials figures 377 positive cases including five deaths and 155 recoveries are from Anantnag, 362 including four deaths and 50 recoveries are from Kulgam, 344 including eight deaths and 143 recoveries are from Srinagar, 318 including 82 recoveries and one death are from Kupwara, 301 including 104 recoveries and seven deaths are from Baramulla, 240 including 112 recoveries and three deaths are from Shopian, 176 including 136 recoveries and one death are from Bandipora, 129 including 67 recoveries and two deaths are from Budgam, 41 including 26 recoveries are from Ganderbal and 119 including 13 recoveries are from Pulwama. In Jammu division, 178 including 52 recoveries and two deaths are from Jammu district, 153 including 16 recoveries are from Ramban, 83 including 28 recoveries are from Kathua, 97 including  29 recoveries and one death are from Udhampur, 51 including 21 recoveries from Samba, 63 with two recoveries are from Poonch, 46 including 05 recoveries are from Rajouri, 17 including 03 recoveries are from Reasi, 17 including 03 recoveries are from Kishtwar, 30 including 01 recovery and one death are from Doda. As per the daily information bulletin 197,350 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 42,195 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2059 persons are in hospital isolation while as 38 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 99,278 persons have completed surveillance period and 53,745 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 195,677 samples are available. Out of 195,677 the number of samples tested negative stands at 192,535 while as 3142 have been tested positive, among them 2059 are active and 1048 persons have recovered and 35 persons have died—(KNO)
