10-yr-old girl dies, 14 others injured due to lightning in Poonch village | KNO

Poonch, June 28 (KNO): A 10-year-old girl was killed and fourteen other persons were injured due to lightning while a house collapsed in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district on Sunday.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that lightning struck a house in Manai Behram Gala area of Poonch's Surankote Tehsil, resulting in on spot death of a 10-year-old girl. 

The deceased was identified as Uffaq daughter of Abdul Ghani. An official said that two other children of the family also got injured and have been shifted to Surankote Sub District hospital for treatment.

He said that the part of the house where the last rites of the deceased girl were being performed got collapsed, leaving at least twelve persons injured. The official said all the twelve persons have been provided medical aid and are out of danger—(KNO)
