COVID-19: CRPF man among four patients die in J&K, toll 186 | KNO

Srinagar, July 13 (KNO): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was among the four patients who died due to the Novel Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of total deaths related to COVID-19 in the Union Territory to 186. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that four patients who died include 55-year-old CRPF man, 65-year-old man from Rawalpora Srinagar, 46-year-old man from Sopore Baramulla and 55-year-old woman from Arabal Pulwama.  Dr Nazir Choudhary, Medical Superintendent at SMHS said that a 55-year-old CRPF man of 174 Battalion Kulgam who was admitted on Sunday and was tested positive after his death on Monday. He was suffering from bilateral pneumonia and other ailments, he said.  Assistant Commandant and CRPF spokesman for (operations) in Kashmir, Junaid Khan also confirmed his death and said the deceased personal was tested positive for COVID-19.  He said that his last rites will take place as per the protocol and guidelines of authorities.  Dr G H Yatoo, Nodal Officer for COVID-19 at SKIMS said that a 46-year-old man from Sopore, who was admitted on July 07, died at SKIMS on Monday morning at 5:45 AM.  He said the patient was suffering from multiple myeloma, Thrombocytopenia, Electrolyte dysfunction and other ailments.  Dr Salim Tak, Medical Superintendent at CD hospital told KNO that a 65-year-old man from Rawalpora Srinagar had come for COVID-19 sampling. However, he said that the man died while his sample was taken and he was tested positive after his death. He died due to Cardiac arrest and the patient was suffering from heart ailments. He said that a 55-year-lady from Pulwama, who was admitted on July 05, died at CD hospital on Monday afternoon.  Dr. Tak further stated that the patient was suffering from COPD, bilateral pneumonia and other ailments.  With four more deaths, the death toll due to COVID-19 has reached to 186 in Jammu and Kashmir including 169 from Kashmir division and 17 from Jammu division—(KNO)
