COVID-19: 48 travelers among 390 fresh cases, J&K tally mounts to 22,396 | KNO

Recovery rate over 66 percent in UT

Srinagar, August 04 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded 390 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 48 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 22,396. With 390 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 22,396 that include 17,292 from Kashmir and 5,104 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 390 new cases, 238 belong to Kashmir division while as 152 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 17,292 including 11,683 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 5,104 including 3,173 recoveries and 30 deaths. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,123 including 5,222 from Kashmir division and 1901 from Jammu division. With 824 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 14,856 which is 66.33 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 5,432 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 5,104 "Cases tested positive in J&K include 99 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 14 from Pulwama, 01 from Kulgam, 11 from Shopian, 37 from Anantnag, 09 from Budgam, 20 from Kupwara, 05 from Bandipora and 28 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 152 from Jammu division include 41 from Jammu, 04 from Kuthua, 21 from Rajouri, 26 from Udhampur, 11 from Samba, 07 from Doda, 14 from Poonch and 28 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 5,432 positive cases including 138 deaths and 2,994 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1,968 including 73 deaths and 1,452 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1,628 including 881 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Pulwama,1,524 including 1,322 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,485 including 23 deaths and 1,238 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,411 including 26 deaths and 1,115 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,345 including 878 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Budgam 1,161 including 940 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kupwara, 820 including 532 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Bandipora and 518 including 331 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 1,309 including 696 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Jammu district, 741 including 451 recoveries and 02 death are from Rajouri, 574 including 441 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 551 including 411 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 581 including 364 recoveries and one death are from Udhampur, 457 including 280 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 299 including 217 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 248 including 152 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 198 including 60 recoveries are from Reasi and 155 including 100 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 375,393 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 44,229 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,123 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 281,546 persons have completed surveillance period and 43,078 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 671,413 samples are available. Out of 671,413 the number of samples tested negative stands at 649,017 while as 22,396 have been tested positive, among them 7,123 are active and 14,856 persons have recovered—(KNO)
