10-yr-old boy drowns into Jhelum in Uri | KNO

Baramulla, Aug 05 (KNO): A 20-year-old boy drowned into river Jhelum in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a boy was taking a bath and drowned in river Jhelum in Uri. “Soon after his friends informed the passersby, a few local youth jumped into the river to rescue the boy, but couldn’t spot him,” they said. They identified the boy as Muhammad Momeen, son of Javaid Ahmad Chalkoo of Silikote, saying that Police along with the locals have launched search operation to trace the boy—(KNO)
