COVID-19: Mother of newly born twins among 11 more die in J&K, toll 518 | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNO): The deadly virus on Thursday claimed 11 more lives including a woman from Anantnag who gave birth to two baby girls before two days, thus taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 in J&K to 518. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 11 patients who died include a 25-year-old woman from Veeri Bijbehara, a 73-year-old man from Hawal Zadibal, a 90-year-old man from Panzgam Kupwara, a 70-year-old man from Lalbazar, a 50-year-old woman from Bemina, a 67-year-old man from Kupwara, a 65-year-old woman from Drubgam Pulwama, a 55-year-old woman from Tral, an aged lady from Mazhama Budgam, a 21-year-old youth from Satwari Jammu and a 40-year-old man from Surankote Poonch. An official from CD hospital said that a 25-year-old woman from Veeri Bijbehara who was referred from LD hospital after giving birth to twin daughters died at CD hospital. She was suffering from chest infection and both baby girls are well, he said. An official from SKIMS said that a 73-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar who was admitted on 30 July died on Thursday. He added that a 90-year-old man from Panzgam Kupwara who was admitted on 07 August and a 70-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar who was admitted on 04 August died on Thursday. An official from SMHS said that a woman from Budgam and a woman from Baygund Tral , both suffering from pneumonia and other ailments admitted on 7 August died on Thursday. He added that a woman from Drubgam Pulwama suffering from Pneumonia admitted on 11 August died on Thursday. He further added that a woman from Bemina who was admitted with pneumonia, hypertension and diabetes on 3 August died on Thursday. He further added that a 67-year-old man from Kupwara who was admitted with chronic Kidney disease, pneumonia, diabetes and other ailments died on Thursday. An official from GMC Jammu told KNO that a 21-year-old youth from  Satwari Jammu who was admitted on 01 August with prolapsed intervertebral disc, severe anaemia, paraparesis, acute respiratory syndrome and other ailments died on Thursday at around 8:10 am. He added that a 40-year-old man from Surankote Poonch who was a police officer also died on Thursday. With 11 more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 518 including 479 from Kashmir division and 39 from Jammu division—(KNO)
