Srinagar (KNO) : Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir strongly denounces the brutal and inhuman murder of a 17 year student Gowhar Ahmad Rather of Kangan Ganderbal by a dreaded police personnel namely Gulzar Ahmad Najar resident of Chatergul who on seeing Gowher, pointing his pistol straight towards his head, fired upon him resulting in his death in SKIMS after the head surgery in which an blank cartridge was removed there from.

Jama’at demands an exemplary punishment to the involved cop who was seen committing this heinous crime by a number of persons of the locality. As per the statements of some eye-witnesses, Gowhar when pleading with a police party to release his brother was chased by the criminal cop who had descended from a police vehicle and fired upon his head by his pistol from a point blank range.

After being hit by the bullet, Gowhar fell down in a pool of blood. In SKIMS Soura, while issuing the death certificate, the concerned doctor administrator under the influence of the state administration, called it an accidental death but later on under the public pressure changed it showing the bullet fire as the cause of Gowhar’s death. This irresponsible and dishonest attitude of the said doctor is quite condemnable and this act is a blatant violation of the medical ethics.

Jama’at demands stringent action against this doctor, whosoever he may be so as to remove such a blot from the medical fraternity for safeguarding the public trust thereon. A high level delegation consisting of Chief Political Bureau Advocate Zahid Ali and District Ameer Ganderbal Gul Muhammad War expressed total solidarity with the bereaved family and rich tributes to the martyr besides demanding a stringent punishment to the criminal cop.
