Srinagar, Aug 21 (KNO): Continuing its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society, J&K Police arrested a drug peddler in Shopian and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police party from Police Station Shopian during routine naka checking at Deegam crossing, intercepted & apprehended a suspicious person. During his personal search, approximately 870 Grams Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Mohd Younis Pampori son of Gh Hassan Pampori resident of Hergam Shopian. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 167/2026 under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been taken up to establish forward and backward linkages and dismantle the larger drug network involved.
