TOP STORIES Ladakh gets one more district | KNO Published 6 hours ago on October 16, 2026 By Raja Syed Rather Leh, Oct 16 (KNO): The Union Territory administration of Ladakh on Friday notified the creation of Sankoo as a new district, with its headquarters at Sankoo. According to a notification issued by the Revenue Department, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the new district namely Sankoo has been created. The notification states that the newly created Sankoo district will comprise four tehsils—Sankoo, GM Pore, TSG and Taisuru—along with their respective revenue villages.
