Trinamool Congress leaders to visit LoC-hit areas in J&K | KNO

Srinagar, May 20 (KNO): A five-member delegation including four Members of Parliament (MPs) from the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), will visit Srinagar, Poonch and Rajouri from May 21 to May 23 to express solidarity with the people affected by recent cross-border attacks and to share the grief of families who have lost their loved ones. The delegation, formed under the guidance of AITC Chairperson and Chief Minister West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, comprises prominent party leaders, including four Members of Parliament, Derek O’Brien, Md. Nadimul Haque, Sagarika Ghose, and Mamata Thakur. According to the news agency—Kashmir news Observer (KNO), they will be joined by Dr. Manas Bhunia, a senior leader and Minister in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. All members of the delegation are associated with the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), which is the ruling party in West Bengal since May 20, 2011, led by Mamata Banerjee. "Under the guidance of AITC Chairperson @MamataOfficial, a 5-member delegation will be proceeding to Srinagar, Poonch, and Rajouri. The delegation comprising @derekobrienmp @MdNadimulHaque6 @ManasB_Official @sagarikaghose and Mamata Thakur, will be in the region from May 21 to 23 to express solidarity with the people affected by cross-border attacks, and share the grief of the families who have lost their loved ones," the AITC said in a post on X. Notably, Poonch and Rajouri districts were heavily impacted by Pakistani shelling along the LoC, leaving over 20 dead and damaging hundreds of homes.
