Srinagar, Aug 20 (KNO): Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday asked the officers to ensure that upcoming Kounsarnag Yatra in South Kashmir passes off smoothly. While chairing a security review meeting at Police Control Room Kashmir to review the security arrangements for the annual Kounsarnag Yatra, DGP Prabhat, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) directed the officers to maintain a high level of preparedness, strengthen security arrangements along the Yatra routes, and ensure close coordination and seamless communication among all stakeholders. He reviewed various security-related aspects and stressed the need for enhanced coordination among all concerned agencies to ensure comprehensive security and effective management of the pilgrimage. The DGP said, “Safety and security of pilgrims remains a top priority. All necessary security measures need to be put in place for the peaceful and smooth conduct of the Kounsarnag Yatra.” The meeting was attended by Special DG Coordination J&K S.J.M Gillani, IGsP of (Kashmir Zone, Jammu Zone), range DIsG of SKR & UR, SSP Kulgam, SSP Reasi, SSP PCR Kashmir, CO 33RR, CO 58RR, CDR 14 Sector RR and other senior officers. The meeting focused on reviewing the existing security arrangements and strengthening the security framework in view of the upcoming Kounsarnag Yatra. The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned officers to ensure meticulous planning, close coordination, and effective implementation of the security arrangements—(KNO)
