TOP STORIES Driver dies after dumper comes in contact with power line in Uri | KNO Published 6 hours ago on August 20, 2026 By KNO Correspondent Uri, Aug 20 (KNO): A 45-year-old dumper driver was killed after suffering an electric shock when the vehicle he was driving came in contact with a 33-KV power line while unloading in the Rajarwani area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the incident occurred when the dumper vehicle accidentally came in contact with the overhead 33-KV power line during unloading. He said the driver suffered an electric shock and was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri in critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, while he was a resident of Uranbuwa area of Boniyar.
