Srinagar, Aug 06 (KNO): Deputy Inspector General of Police Maqsood-ul-Zaman on Thursday reviewed and finalised arrangements at Balidan Stambh, Pratap Park in Srinagar for the ceremonial tributes to be paid to martyrs on Independence Day 2026, with emphasis on security, access control and inter-departmental coordination.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the Deputy Inspector General of Police Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman-IPS, (Overall Supervisory Officer IDP26) convened meeting of all stakeholders at Balidan Stambh, Pratap Park, Srinagar today to review and finalize the preparations for ceremonial tributes to be paid to the Martyrs at Balidan Stambh on Independence Day 2026.
He said during the meeting, all concerned departments and agencies were comprehensively briefed on the need for robust and coordinated security arrangements. Discussions were held on enhancing the overall security of the venue and its surroundings, effective access control management, continuous monitoring and thorough security checks well in advance.
The spokesperson said all stakeholders were directed to ensure meticulous inter-departmental coordination so that the solemn occasion of paying tributes to the martyrs is conducted seamlessly and securely.—(KNO)
