Srinagar, Oct 12 (KNO): The National Investigation Agency on Monday attached a residential property on Srinagar outskirts, in connection with an alleged cross-border terror conspiracy involving Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), citing its use for harbouring Pakistani terrorists and concealing incriminating material linked to the terror network.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a NIA spokesman said, “The property, located at Khasra No. 315 and belonging to accused Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas in Danihama area of Hazratbal was attached under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967, after obtaining prior approval from the NIA Director General.”
The spokesman said, “The case pertains to a network of local Over Ground Workers (OGWs) allegedly operating in coordination with Pakistan-based LeT handlers to facilitate the infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support of Pakistani terrorists for attacks on government establishments, security forces and civilians.”
“The case was initially registered as FIR No. 24/2026 on March 31, 2026, at Police Station Zakura, Srinagar, before being taken over and re-registered by the NIA as RC-02/2026/NIA/JMU,” he said, adding, “A search conducted at Mir's residence on April 6 led to the detection of two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib, allegedly associated with LeT. An explosive-like substance, digital devices and other incriminating material were also recovered from the premises.”
“The investigation established that Mir knowingly provided shelter to the suspected terrorists and allowed the premises to be used to facilitate their activities,” the NIA spokesman said, adding, “Further investigation is underway to identify other OGWs, facilitators and individuals linked to the Pakistan-based handlers and unravel the entire terror-support network.”—(KNO)
