Kishtwar Encounter: Injured soldier succumbs, Operation underway | KNO

Kishtwar, May 22 (KNO): A soldier has lost his life during an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district, officials said. In a post on X, Army's White Knight Corps, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the soldier, who got injured in gunfight earlier today, has succumbed to his injuries. "During the ongoing operation, fierce gunfight is continuing. One of our #Bravehearts sustained grievous injuries in the exchange of fire and has succumbed despite best medical efforts," the post reads. Operation is in progress, it added . Pertinently, the gunfight broke out after a joint team of Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation based on specific intelligence inputs. As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering the gunfight—(KNO)
