75% qualify 12th exams | KNO

Yet again girls outshine boys

Srinagar, Apr 30 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education on Wednesday announced results of annual regular exams of 12th standard with an overall pass percentage of 75 percent. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) girl students have yet again outshined boys. BOSE said that the total pass percentage includes 72 percent in boys and 78 percent among girl students. It also said that a total of 1,033,08 candidates were enrolled for the exams in which 77,311 successfully qualified it. Stating the overall performance of the candidates, BOSE said that a total of 51,717 male and 51,591 female candidates appeared in the examination out of which 75 percent qualified it. In the exams, a total of 30,622 students have registered distinctions, 36,311 secured first divisions, 10,304 bagged second division and 74 candidates registered third division. BOSE further said that in the examination, 970 students couldn’t qualify the exams while 25.027 have been asked to reappear in the exams. The official had said that nearly 3,55,963 students were registered for the annual regular examination of class 10th, 11th and 12th including 1,32,992 candidates of 10th standard, 1,20,673 in 11th standard and 1,02,298 students of 12th standard respectively. Pertinently, Education Minister Sakina Itoo had directed the BOSE and the concerned authorities to announce the results by April-30 Earlier the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) had said that the board was mulling to announce the results of 10th and 12th standard on the same date—(KNO)
