Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Ganderbal, contraband substance recovered | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNO): In a continued drive against drug abuse, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession. According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police team of PS Kheerbawani at a checkpoint established at Central University Crossing, intercepted and apprehended 02 suspicious persons. During search, approximately 3 Kilograms of contraband powdered bhang-like substance was recovered from their possession. The recovered contraband was seized on the spot in accordance with legal procedures. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 01/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kheerbhawani, and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the seized narcotic substance. J&K Police reiterate its firm commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and urge the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking, the statement reads—(KNO)
