Srinagar Dec 26 (KNO) : Supporting the demands of Sakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) Coordinators, a Centrally Sponsored Flagship Programme, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has emphasized that State Govt must come out with a concrete job policy for the people engaged under the Mission. Congress also demands release of their wages enabling them to sustain their families. Reacting to the long pending demands of the Saksahar Bharat Mission (SBM) Coordinators, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has said that Govt must take effective measures to strengthen the Flagship Programms launched earlier, as that, the Flagship Programme will create more employment avenues for educated unemployed youth in the State. While supporting the the demands of SBM Coordinators agitating against the indifferent attitude of both State and Central Govt, he (G.A. Mir) said that the Ruling Dispensation led by PDP must come out with a concrete job policy, besides releasing the wages in favour of the Coordinators working under the SBM. He (G.A.Mir) was approached by the Forum (SBM) led by Zahoor Ahmad Wani very recently and submitted a memorandum with regard to their genuine demands. G.A. Mir has assured the Forum that Congress Party will fully support them. Commenting on the difficulties confronting Coordinators working under this Centrally Sponsored Flagship Programme, G.A. Mir said that there were atleast 6000 coordinators in number who have been engaged in this programme six years ago, but the Govt is yet to come out with a concrete job policy for them rather their pay dues were not being released for a long time, which is very unfortunate. Adding that UPA I and UPA II has launched various flagship programmes such as NHM. MGNREGA and SBM aiming to ensure employment to educated youth of the State, G.A. Mir said that the Govt of the day seems hell bent upon to make these programme defunct, indicating that both State and Centre has no policy for Educated/Unemployed of the State, as a result, the anguish and anger among the youth were on rise, which is a matter of serious concern. State Congress President urged upon the Govt to come out with a concrete job policy for these coordinators, also emphasized that their pay dues must be released at the earliest enabling them to sustain their families.(KNO)
