Srinagar, May 26 (KNO): Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday said his Delhi visit has nothing to do with politics. In a series of tweets, Omar said that there is nothing political about his visit to New Delhi for the first time after August last year. “Finally I’m in Delhi for the 1st time since 3rd August 2019. There is nothing political about my visit, whether linked to the matter above or the political advisory council reportedly being formed. I needed a change of scene & some medical follow ups & that’s why I’m here,” Omar tweeted. The NC vice-president said his party remains committed to challenging what happened on 5th Aug using all lawful means. He said neither Tanvir Sadiq nor Aga Syed Ruhullah’s views can change the stand taken by NC in the Supreme Court Supreme Court and outside regarding August 5. “@RuhullahMehdi & @tanvirsadiq are both valued colleagues & friends. As far as I’m concerned that are both entitled to an opinion & to disagree with each other. Neither’s views, expressed in a private capacity, change the stand NC has taken in the SC & outside regarding 5th Aug,” he tweeted as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) A number of political parties including National Conference, Peoples Conference and J&K Peoples Movement have challenged abrogation of the Article 370 and bifurcation of J&K into two Union Territories by the BJP-led Central government before the Supreme Court. In an apparent reference to spat between Ruhullah and Tanvir, the former CM said that it is “sometimes better to discuss opinions amongst ourselves before we decide to make them public.” “Beyond that we are a democratic party & we value all shades of opinion within our wider family though sometimes it’s better to discuss them amongst ourselves before we decide to make them public. I’ve burnt my hands a few times by not following my own advice,” Omar tweeted—(KNO)
