Three drug addicts booked for murdering associate in Manjakote | KNO

Rajouri, July 05 (KNO): Rajouri police on Friday claimed to have booked and arrested three drugs addicted youth for murdering one of their associate by inducing over dose of drugs in Manjakote area. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Yougal Manhas as per KNO Correspondent said that the incident took place on 29th of June when a twenty four years old boy identified as Mohammad Mukhtar, son of Sher Din of Galuti Patrara village of Manjakote was taken to Rajouri hospital in serious health deteriorated condition from where he was referred to GMCH Jammu where he breathed his last. SSP said that the information of this mysterious death was received by police after which an investigating officer was sent to GMCH Jammu where medico-legal formalities were conducted and body was later handed over to the family of deceased for last rites. During inquest proceedings and initial investigation of the case under section 174 of CrPC, it came to fore that deceased was a drugs addict and was a regular consumer of drugs and other narcotic substances. SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas added that during investigation, it came to fore that on the day of death, deceased was seen with three of his associates of the same area who are also drugs addicts after which all three were detained and put to sustained questioning by a team headed by SHO Manjakote Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of SDPO Manjakote Nisar Khoja. During investigation, SSP said, all three broke out and confessed to their involvement in the crime. The three accused were with the deceased on the day of his death when the deceased had demanded some payment back from one of the accused and who after hatching a criminal conspiracy to eliminate the deceased had allured him to have some dose of drugs and also assured to return back the payment. Taking advantage of the situation in furtherance of the criminal conspiracy, Irfan Khan, son of Mohammad Rafiq resident of Kalali Manjakote along with his two associates induced over dose of drugs to deceased whose health deteriorated and later he died, said SSP. He added that as the inquest proceedings have established that the three accused murdered the deceased through drugs overdose, all three have been booked and arrested in case registered in police station Manjakote under sections 302 RPC and other relevant sections of law. The accused arrested in the case include Irfan Khan son of Mohammad Rafiq, Arshad Mehmood son of Mohammad Shakoor and Ajaz Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz, all residents of Kalali village of Manjakote in Rajouri district. SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas also said that the name of a drugs peddler of Rajouri town has also surfaced in the case who supplied drugs to the accused and manhunt to arrest him is going on. He also appealed all the parents and guardians to keep a close eye on the daily activities of their wards and to take all remedial measures to save them from the addiction of drugs.(KNO)
