Budgam, Nov 04 (KNO): An unusual scene unfolded during the election campaign rally of National Conference’s Budgam bypoll candidate Aga Mehmood on Tuesday, when a woman suddenly walked onto the stage, took the microphone and demanded removal of smart meters and urged people to vote for development instead of “fake promises.”
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a woman all of sudden walked on the stage and addressed the gathering by raising concerns over rising hardships faced by poor families.
She said several political parties had visited their area repeatedly but can't trust anyone until they fulfill their promises. “She demanded that chairs of leaders should remain upside down until the demands of the poor are fulfilled,” locals said.
During her short address, the woman loudly chanted slogans against the installation of electricity smart meters. She further highlighted the struggle of educated unemployed youth.
Her unexpected intervention drew loud applause from parts of the crowd especially women, briefly shifting attention from the scheduled speeches—(KNO)
